Wednesday, July13, 2011. **SPECIAL EDITION**

WARNING WARNING ... INVASION IMMINENT!!! ..... well, that's what it looks like anyway. These signs have been quietly posted around the municipality of Saanich. Are we being softened up for possible alien disclosure? ... is the threat of a flying saucer invasion a reality? ... do I need to get my tin-foil hat out of storage??

"Dream Girl" ... drawn by Ron McDowell around 19 ... ??? ... let's just say before my time shall we.

This was a huge (re)discovery I made last week! I had completely forgotten my dad had a love for drawing as well.

This little lovely was one of his favourites. So much so I was told by my mum he had it framed and proudly on display in their home.

For reasons unknown to me Dad put his pencil down before I was born. Somewhere buried in my house is a little sketchbook that was his. I remember he liked lampooning promenant American politians from the World War Two era. (I think)

.... and here I am playing with phrases again ....

Getting down to the last of my material from the beginnings with this. There might be two left then it's just the current stuff .... worts and all!

Here I was playing with a material called "Letraset". It's the shading used on the window, pilings, etc. I used to buy it by the sheet and literally cut & paste the stuff right on to the drawing .... low tech or what??!

This comes from my version of the "... Experience Has Taught Me That ..." department.
